Well, finally, good news!

I was just informed an hour ago that we close on the house at 3 o'clock TODAY!  Someone finally looked at the fax machine and said "Hey, we can just fax this little piece of paper so they can get on with their closing!"  What a brilliant idea.  ;-)  Excuse sarcasim, lol.

Also on the upside, my Cousin's dad is on his way up to see his daughter.  Her mood is apparently very foul.  Who can blame her.  She is basically pinned to her bed and she has things that squeeze her legs so she won't get blood clots.  Apparently, she also itches like mad because of the stuff they have on her to keep her immobile.  Oh, btw, this is my second cousin.  I call her my cousin because it's all the same to me, lol.

So, this is me, signing off and shutting down.

Things are still creeping along

Good news:  The closing of the house will happen.

The other side:  We just don't know when, lol.  We are waiting for a little piece of paper.  The request for it was sent via Same Day Fed Ex and stamped "Urgent."  Whoever received the urgently marked package missed the clues, and calmly waited until Monday to stick the very important piece of paper in the regular mail.  Meanwhile, our lease is up tomorrow.  Thankfully our landlord is cool.  Life happens, she understands that.

Good news:  My dad is still in town.

The other side:  Well, there is no other side.  It is a blessing that he is here.  His mother has a 24 hour vigil of family members now.  She is inching her way slowly to the next life.  To make things more interesting, my Cousin was in a car accident and has broken a vertebrea in her back.  She is in a Halo in an entirely separate Hospital in a different city.  She also needs to have family with her 24 hours a day to keep her still.  One wrong move in the early critical hours and she could be paralyzed.  So I am hoping my dad has been a huge help to my Aunt and Uncle.  I feel a little useless.  Here I am finally within easy driving distance of the family, and I can't help when needed.  I have the three children to think about.  I really don't think my cousin needs three active tornados bouncing around her when she is trying to heal and recover.  My Grandma also does not need the three tornados bouncing around her.  I have taken the children to see her, one at a time for five minuntes each, so that Grandma could say her Goodbye's.

As you can probably tell, there isn't much humor in my life lately, which explains the quiet that has taken over this blog.   I'm sad that this seems to have become a place to vent as of late.

On the other side, I do feel better after writing it all down and sending it into the vast world of the internet.  If only removing stress were that easy.  One click and it's gone.

National Happiness Day!

Today is National Happiness Day!  Act happy...and BE happy!

Today, do something for yourself to make you smile...or do something for someone else!  Then let us know what it was!

I have one pair of pants that fit and don't have holes in them, so I bought myself two pair of pants.  And a shirt, it was on sale, lol.  I feel a lot better today!

And the days continue...

On the plus...my dad went to spend the day with my Grandma.  Alan and I decided it was a great opportunity to gather the kids up and take them to a local place that has activity centers set up for them to play.  We know the stress has to be getting to them, too.  We spent five hours completely focused on the kids.  I think it did us all good.

On the other side of things...Aidan discovered how to open the front door last week.  I went into my room long enough to put a stack of laundry away.  When I came out, the front door was open and Aidan was no where in site.  On the plus side...I have not moved that fast in 10 years.  The sprint woke up my old bones.   Also on the plus, my baby was right off of the front porch and he came running back as soon as he heard me yell (squeak) for him.  The guilty look on his face told me he knew he was in trouble and had scared Mommy.  The dead bolt is permanently in place now.

A smile

Today the town park had scheduled their annual Easter Egg hunt.  It is raining out today, and even storming a little off and on.  I drove by the park and saw lots of people milling around, so I went home and got Daddy, Opa, and the kids.  We didn't tell the kids where we were going in case it was canceled or raining too hard when we got there.  Turns out, it wasn't raining at all when we arrived, but it was wet.

The town did an amazing thing.  They found a way to avoid dissappointing all of the children while also avoiding having them stomp around in mud and rain.  I am proud to say, today we went to a drive through Easter Egg Hunt.  They had little bags made out for every child.  They made little Easter Baskets for the kids under two.  You just pulled up, and the Easter bunny came to the car and shook hands with the kids and gave them their bags.

We found this so cool and amazing.  The town really went through a lot of effort and thought for the kids.  We appreciate it.  The town could have just canceled it or postponed it, but instead they went through the effort of bagging it all up.  I do really love the little town here.  It's very family oriented.

Still in the dumps

Well, still no happy light news to report.  I am still deep in my funk.  No, make that I am deeper in my funk.  We went to close on the house yesterday and our financing company called us there and told us they had backed out on us.  So, here the poor Sellers are hoping that they would finally sell their house.  This has happened to them three times now.  They get to the table, and the buyers backed out the first two times and now our bank backed out on us at the table.  I feel so badly for them.  Alan's leave ends Tuesday, so we are hurridly trying to get a new lender.  Of course, it won't happen by Tuesday, so dh will be moving at midnight, I guess.

The stress has pushed me into a lazy-I-don't-want-to-do-anything mode.  I am sick (cold and no voice), the kids are sick, and I will be 30 weeks pregnant tomorrow. I  can think of a lot of other things I would rather be doing than stressing about having no place to live on March 31st, lol.

Quack....

The day before closing and a hunter came along and shot another duck...

Hopefully we can close on the house on Friday.  Two days of dh's leave wasted, but what are you going to do, right?  More time for me to pack. :o)

A head scratcher

Mommy:  "Jacob, do you want some (leftover) potatoes?"

Jacob:  "What day is it, Mom?"

Mommy:  "It's Monday."

Jacob:  "I don't eat leftovers on Mondays, Mom."

Feeling Frazzled

Hi ya'll!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.

I am really feeling frazzled.  I am not getting nearly as much done as I wanted to.  I worked for three hours on the walls today, and they still look like doody!  I even got irritable with my kids.  There is so much crayon and ink on these walls it is not even funny.  I am sure I could have helped by washing them weekly, but gosh, who has time for that? LoL.  Ok, I have time, just not the inclination.  Susie Homemaker, I am not.

Anyway, we close on the house in three days.  I am nowhere near ready.  Alan's leave request for two weeks got axed, so he has 7 days to move us and fix everything here and get everything organized at the new house.  My dad is driving from out of state tomorrow to come help us.  Bless his heart.  Think we can do it?

Alan is going to call the manager and ask what kind of paint she uses on the walls.  We are hoping she tells him not to worry about it, because they paint everytime someone moves out.  We just want to make sure we get our deposit back.  It does seem redundant to paint if they are going to do it anyway, though.  I haven't given up on the walls...I am still trying.

Even the Magic Eraser can't do it's Magic on this mess.

Signing off

This is my official notice for a leave of absence!  I still cannot believe how much I saved for myself to do in such a short time.  I have known this was coming for months.  Seven months, in fact LOL.  Yesterday was just too crazy to write about.  Monday was truely nuts.  I was alseep by 9:30, lol.  Today is going better, so I think I should get busy with cleaning and packing until my kids come home.  I need to be a little better about spending some time with them.  Progress reports came home yesterday, and my daughter has regressed instead of progressed :o(  Jacob, on the other hand, has met his IEP goals and he will be released from his IEP on March 16th.  Whoo hoo!  Way to go, little guy!

So, this is a "take care" and enjoy your days...Spring is right around the corner!  I noticed the Robins have come back. Sunday they were singing in the sun.  Today, I saw a Robin on a mailbox, in the snow, and he looked truely ticked.  Poor birdy.  Hopefully the sun will be here to stay soon!

Eight days before we close on the house!  Ta-ta for now!

Quick Preggy Update

I am 28 weeks.  :-)  I passed my Glucose test today.  I will have to take the test at least one more time due to the fact that my last baby was over 10 lbs.  The doctors are already talking induction due to my last baby's weight.  That kind of makes me nervous, I am not really keen on inductions.  My iron is low, so I am on iron now.  Otherwise, I am doing pretty well.  They have me coming in every two weeks now.  Cross your fingers that this baby won't hang out until after his due date like my other two boys.  I really don't want to be induced!

Quick Hello

Hello!  There is not too much happening here.  Our ducks are finally all lined up again.  I have put up "No Hunting" signs in hopes that no more of our ducks get shot down.  The things with the house are all "on track" again.  We have two, maybe three people to help Alan move the furniture.  I have been very busy packing and cleaning in order to try and make this move as smooth as possible.   It seems insane that our house closes in 13 days.  WOW.  Time is moving fast.  Alan finally got home insurance lined up today.   We had no idea that by having a husky/shepard mix that our home insurance would be higher.  It seems a little crazy that we are paying $120 more in home insurance for our "vicious" puppy, who by the way, will let our two year old lift her jowls and pull on them before we can stop him.  (We are working on that one, he really needs to stop that.  Poor Nika.)

On another front, Alan reenlisted in the Navy yesterday.  This reenlistment puts him past the point of no return, and he will probably stay in for over 20 years now.  We just don't feel that being in the Navy for 12 to 15 years and then getting out without going for retirement would be the right choice for us.

Off to go clean and pack.  I probably won't be updating very often for awhile...

Quack, Quack

Every time we get all of our ducks in a row for our upcoming move, some darn hunter comes by and shoots one.  Gosh darn it.  The hunter has duck for dinner.  We, on the other hand,  have to go and find a duck egg, wait until it hatches, wait until the duckling matures, and only then can we put it back in our row.

By then, another hunter has come along and shot another duck.
