A little bit of chocolate goes a long way...

in the dryer.

So, last Thursday I was told no more sugary sodas and chocolate in small amounts every so often by the dentist.  I knew I needed to cut these things out, and I have been working very hard on it.  Mountain Dew and Chocolate are my vices.  So anyway, last night I thought I would be sneaky and sneak a bite sized chocolate from the kids candy bucket.  Alan was coming down the hallway, so I quickly stuck the wrapped chocolate into my pocket.  Forgot all about it.

So this morning, I was madly doing laundry trying to catch up.  I pulled a load out of the dryer and was like "What the heck is this stuff all over my clothes?"  It's amazing how many clothes can be covered when a bite sized piece of chocolate melts...

The good news is I rewashed the load right away and it all came out.

And Aidan said I could have his last piece of chocolate today.  :-)  Don't worry.  I brushed my teeth.

Hello, is this thing on?

I am sure that is how anyone who ever read here regulary might have felt lately.  Life is just kind of rolling along.  Nothing really of note to comment on.  No bats flying out of the shudders or pigs flying across the sky.  Jacob is still getting notes home from school.  His work comes home messy and incomplete.  Alan and I both know where Jacob is headed and we don't quite know what to do about it.  The doctor hasn't mentioned ADD/ADHD yet, but I can see it in his eyes when Jacob jumps off of the patients table yelling and screaming at the top of his lungs.  Or lunging across the room and out the door on the rolly stool.  Jacob is always moving; mostly in inappropriate manners.  I work with him everyday.  Somedays it feels like I have a horse's tether in my hand and I am trying to steer it to the right when the horse wants to go left.  I am not calling Jacob a horse, mind you.  I am just saying it's very difficult to guide him most of the time.   I refuse to give up.

Robby is moving right along.  Moving being the operative word.  He is always on the go.  Not much stops him anymore.  He still scoots on his belly.  I idely thought that I should put a dustrag on his belly or something to help me clean the floor, but then decided against it.  Kidding, of course.   His shirt usually does the job just fine.  :-)  Robby has moved onto feeding himself Cheerios and avoacodo.  He loves feeding himself both foods.  I think he just likes doing it himself, not necessarily the foods.  I never had much luck giving my other kids avacado.  In fact, I let them try it again yesterday and all three of them spit it out saying "Yuck!"

We relaxed mostly this weekend.  Last weekend dh had a Martial Arts Tourney so that took up all of Saturday.  Sunday we drove 1.5 hours away to grocery stop and get dh's foot X-rayed.  He took away the gift of a sprained ankle and a black eye from his Tourney.  He did place two 2nd's and one 4th.  Way to go, dear.

Happy Belated Birthday, Aidan!

I can't believe he's three.  We celebrated last weekend.  I am very behind with my journal.  I just can't seem to get into the writing mood.

Here are two pictures of his little party.  He is making a face in the first one because Daddy bought him trick candles!

Behold, the incredible talking Aidan

I'm sorry I haven't really been keeping up with this.  I just don't have many interesting things to say lately.   Not that everything I have babbled about in the past is interesting, lol.  I thought I would at least log on and post a funny story.

Last weekend, I had to run an errand and I decided to take Aidan with me so that he would fall asleep in the car.  Well, the entire way to the store Aidan talked a mile a minute.  I mean, he was pointing out every single car we passed (at least a thousand, lol), birds, rocks, his boogies, his toes, a stray french fry on the floor of our vehicle.  Frankly, he was driving me Batty!  So, we got to the store and I got Robby out first.  When I went to get Aidan out, he looked up at me with his big blue eyes and exclaimed proudly "I'm awake, Mommy!  I talked.  I'm awake!"  Ah-ha!  So that was his ploy.  To talk a mile a minute in order to stay awake.  Well, since then, he has engaged this method every single day.  As soon as he gets tired, he starts talking.   And talking.  And talking.

On the plus side, his articulation is improving...

Keeping a vigil

I am keeping the West Virginia Miners and their families in my thoughts.  It seems every time I log on there is bad news lately.  In the news and among friends, both.  Many positive vibes in my heart these days for friends and strangers alike.

My prayers for the families of these miners.  I just can't imagine thinking all was well and rejoicing, only to find out there was a miscommunication.  This just breaks my heart.

Those little things that Hubbies do...

...to say "I love you!"

I asked him to help me open the orange juice this morning.  He had dropped it when he bought it, so the top was all squished in.  It was one of those Tropicana Gallon plastic jugs.  So anywhos, there he was, pulling on the lid with a pair of pliers while I held the juice jug down.  As soon as the top popped up, the lid went with it.  It was like our own little orange juice volcano.  Alan is so lucky, my face was there to block most of it for him.  His shirt got a little.  My hair was streaked with it, I had it up my nose, in my mouth (yum!), all over my shirt.  For once, I am glad I wear glasses.

I love you, too, dear.
