Is it just me?

Or has July been creeping by so slowly?

The time with the Hubby has flown, but it seems like he left here eight months ago, when really it was two weeks ago.  Ugh.  C'mon, July, keep on moving so August will get here!  I need the kids to go back to school.  I'm ready for a routine again!   I'm also ready to see Aidan.  I miss that little guy!

Are you sure it isn't Monday?

I set my alarm for 7 A.M. this morning.  At 8:21, I woke up to my oldest standing next to the bed looking at my phone for the time.  I had slept right through my alarm.  I never even heard it.  So this morning, I am glad he broke the rules and came in to make noise next to me.  Otherwise, I would have slept right through Sunday School.  That would be a bad thing, seeing has how *I was the teacher today for Preschool.

I groaned a very un-lady like groan and heaved myself out of bed and into the shower.  I stood there with the water pouring over my head, trying to remember what day it was, what I had to do today, and just plain old trying to wake up.  I hadn't fallen asleep last night until almost three.  My own fault...I waited until Saturday night to bake the cookies I needed to bake for Church and plan my Sunday School Lesson in depth.  I had only written an outline, but didn't really have it ready.  That will teach me.

So I managed to get the shower and after telling my oldest 1,543,267 times that he needed to change his pants and underwear, too, I woke up my youngest and we were off.  I got him dressed and ready to go in record time.  We had to stop by the grocery store on the way to Church, because with my wonderful planning skills, I didn't have any of the materials I needed to teach Sunday School.  I was so busy being lazy on Saturday, that I just didn't have time.

I managed to get all of the children into our vehicle and we were on the road.  We had gotten out of our housing addition and halfway to the grocery store when my oldest screams.  "MY SHOE!"  I screeched on the brakes; terrified that I was about to hit something, when it finally got through my film of horror at having had someone scream like he was losing his hand while I was trying to drive, that we were Ok.  I calmly asked him what about his shoe, and he said "It's on the back of the van!" ::insert huge groan and eye rolls::  Of course when I overslept and am in a hurry, my son would decide to place his shoe, just one shoe, on the bumper of the van.  I mean, why wouldn't he, right?  So I get to a place where I turn around and was actually grateful, because there was a Police Officer there with his radar gun.  If I hadn't been slowing down to turn around, I would have been going 60 in a 40.  ::cough cough::  I turned into the same drive the Police Officer was and drove up and back to turn around.  I pulled around him to stop at the stop sign.  He flashed his lights at me, but being the smart citizen I am, I realized it too late and was on my way.  He didn't come roaring after me, so I thought maybe he was just saying "Hello!"  We get halfway home and there was a turtle crossing the road.  Screech!  Back on the brakes again while I waited for the turtle to cross.  Good thing he was in a hurry.  That is the fastest turtle I have ever seen.  The Hare must have been on his tail.

So we get back to our housing addition, and then it occurred to me why the Officer had flashed me.  I pulled to the side of the road without actually driving all the way to our house.  I had my oldest jump out and check the bumper to see if his shoe was still there.  Sure enough.  One shoe full of Pokemon cards and loose change.  I don't even want to know what the Officer thought when he saw that.  Crisis averted, nothing was lost out of the shoe, and the shoe itself was safe.  We turned back around and went back to the store.  We were racing through the store at a pretty good pace when my daughter decides to tip her purse full of pennies upside down.  Naturally.  Pennies everywhere; with me racing the clock.  Oodles and oodles of Pennies.  The store was deserted, the aisle I needed was right in front of them, so I left my two oldest to pick up the pennies while I dashed to get paper plates.  The kids finished so quickly!  They were back with me before I even got three feet away from them.  Go kids!  We gathered our things, and even with the Penny Disaster, we were in and out in nine minutes.  We rock!

So then it was off to Church.  We made it, with five minutes to spare.  My kids get lots of Kudos from me again, even with the Shoe and Penny Disasters.  Kids happen.  Mostly when Mom is in a hurry.

The Preschool class consisted of 4 very restless Preschoolers and my youngest.  Luckily I'm not bald.  The kids just wanted to go outside.  I kept trying to do things with them, and they kept escaping out the door.  I am so Thankful for the woman who agreed to stay and help me.  What a life saver!  The only thing we did today that I think the kids enjoyed was slathering the table with shaving cream.  I'll have to remember that one.  All that Bible stuff...they said "No, thank you!"  We had a different group last week who was actually into the Bible story and prayer and stuff.  Not this group this week.  Oh, no.  They just wanted to run, and jump, and play!

My own daughter balked at going to Sunday School today.  She loves Sunday school!  She sat outside the door and whined and cried, and thankfully another mom from the Church who knows Alexia got her to go in so I could get to my own class.  My oldest went easily.  He's usually the one who balks.

I'm relaxing now.  What a whirl wind of a morning.

Happy Belated Birthday

A very happy belated Birthday to my only daughter.  I love you very much, Alexia.

You have grown up so much this past year.  You are taller, wiser, and you have finally crossed the hurdle with speech!  I'm so proud of you, you have worked so hard.

I promise I will add pictures later.  You have worn your Mommy out this week!

Many hugs,

Mommy

My husband rocks!

My husband rocks because he kept fighting and pushing and managed to get his First Class Back.  I know it's not the same to him, but at least he is further along than he was before.

My hubby also sent Pizza this week just because.  How sweet!

Love you, Tigger.

Another Perspective

You can see my little Oompa-Loompa much better in this picture!

Awards!

I got an Award from my dear friend  Christina.

Thank you so much, Christina!  Thank you for thinking of me!  I feel so speical.  :-)

I am trying to figure out how this works.  I don't have a a side bar or know what a widget is, nor do I have five people to give the award to.  But I'll try!

I guess we're not positive on the rules, but we're following these guidelines.

1. Post your award in a blog and on your sidebar as a widget.

2. Pass the award onto at least 5 other bloggers that you admire or respect that are Edgy, Bold, Modern, Unique , Humorous or all of the above, with links to their sites and to the site of the awarder :).

3. Make sure to describe why it is you admire these particular bloggers.

So here goes.

Tiara Fabulosity....  I love Tiara's Blog because it has been such a joy for me watching her life get happier and happier.  I love seeing her two absolutely beauitful children.  She is an awesome Mom and she has worked so hard and long on her relationships with various family members.

Shellie I have my faults, but changing my tune is not one of them and  Sterling Acres Homestead I think it is awesome what she and her family are doing!  They are homesteading and working so hard.  She is an awesome Crunchy Mama whom I admire for the things she does for her family.  I wish I could have even half of the ambition that she has.

I have more but I am out of time!  Kids need me.  I'll try to add more later.

Thanks, again, Christina!

Tongue Depressor?

My kids had watched the Doctor use a Tongue Depressor on me to look in my mouth today.  So tonight, my youngest finds an emery board somewhere and comes up to me going "Ahhh!" and tries to put it in my mouth.  I tried very hard to explain and show him that it was for your nails and not for your mouth.  I didn't have a tongue depressor handy, though, to show him, so he stuck the nasty emry board in his mouth.

Ewee!

He did finally get it and filed his nails.

ENT Update

The doctor did call.  I have a low tone hearing loss (already figured that).  He said that wasn't too bad.  I do have a loss of drum movement, too, which is more worrisome.  He thinks my symptoms are also consistent with  Ménière's Disease syndrome as my General Practitioner had thought.  I have to have Comprehensive testing done to be sure, but that can't be done until he gets back.  I have to have some kind of Vestibular Movement test done where they can make me dizzy and see how my inner workings react.  Sounds exciting.  LOL

So there we go.  This is probably a rest of my life thing.

The award goes to...

My kids.  They deserve an award.  I had an appointment with an ENT today at 4 P.M.  Please note the time.  I get there and there was one other woman there with her mom waiting.  They had already been there an hour.  I was told on the phone when I called to tell them I would be late that the doctor was running behind.  OK.  I thought "Behind" meant 20 to 30 minutes, tops.  Nope, apparently it meant three hours.  So the kids and I were sitting there and sitting there.  Luckily the lady there waiting for her mom turned out to be excellent with children.  She made up little games and really helped me keep the kids entertained for a long while.  Thank you, God, for sending her to me.  I only had a small patch of hair left, and I was about to pull it out, too.  Meanwhile, person after person were entering the office to begin their long wait.  Right around the 3 hour mark a nurse comes out and tells my kids to calm down and be quiet because there were sick people there.  Um.  I had a problem with that on so many levels.  A.) Why is someone coming out to be rude to my kids when they are my kids.  It's my job to be rude to them, not hers.  B.) My kids weren't even being loud.  They were a little louder than they have been but...C.)  They had been sitting in a waiting room with nothing to do for three hours.  They are kids!  C'mon already!  They were starting to call people back who had gotten there an hour after me.  So I marched up to the desk and asked how much longer it would be.  I saw my name marked off on their list.  Somehow they had marked my name off without ever having called me back so they thought I had come and gone.  Nice.  Real nice.

Wait, it gets better.  They called me right back after I let them know I was there.  The doctor comes in and is examining me.  I thought an MRI was bad?  This guy marches in and sticks rubber doo-hickeys in my ears and starts blowing air into my ears.  Very uncomfortable, but I wanted to do a fist pump in the air because when he blew air into one ear, the air didn't come right out the other ear.  That fact combined with my MRI pictures show that there really is something in my head.  So for all those doubters out there, it has been proven.  I really do have a brain!  Ha, take that Doubting Thomases! So anyway, this guy does all kind of weird and uncomfortable things to me.  Not the least of which is sticking a metal sharp-pronged stick down my throat and telling me say the /h/ sound while he is assaulting my uvula and tonsils with this weapon of mass destruction and discomfort.  I about threw up on him and he said "Ah, OK, I guess that's enough of that."  Darn tooting that was enough of that!

Wait, there's more...

In the middle of the exam his cell phone rang.  He says he has to answer it because it might be a Doctor.  Um, you are a Doctor, buddy.  He answered the phone and it was short and not so sweet.  He hung up and announced to me that he had to go the hospital, so I would have to wait out in the waiting room until he was finished seeing the rest of his patients so that he could go.  He went on to explain that his patients have been waiting a very long time and he wanted to see them before he went on his two week vacation.  "My nurses can give you your hearing test, but I have to see my patients."  I didn't say anything, but my eyes about bugged out of my head and my lips went into a very thin line.  Jacob looked at the Doctor and told him "Uh-oh, you are in trouble now!"  Jacob knows that look very well.  It's the look I reserve for people who have just said the most asinine thing that could ever come out of their mouths at that exact moment.  I was thinking I was his patient and had been waiting a very long time and my kids had, too.  It was like I didn't matter since I was new.  So he tried to cover himself and he said "I know you have also been waiting a long time, but those are my patients.  I've done surgery on them and stuff."  Well, geez, Buddy, pull out a scalpel right now and cut my neck open.  Then I'll be your patient, too, and you can respect me as one and finish my dang exam that I have been patiently waiting for for the past three hours.

To say the least, I wasn't impressed at all.  He took my chart with him and left a fax number for the nurse to fax my hearing test to him and promised to call me either tonight or in the morning before he leaves for vacation.

I'm not holding my breath.

I learned one thing from that visit about my hearing.  The lady was over there turning the knob and looking at me waiting for me to tell her I heard the tone, when really I didn't here dip squat.  Silence and more silence.  I couldn't even hear the kids talking with those things on my head.

I'm eager to hear with the Doctor says, but I am wishing more and more that I had walked out and told them I would find a new Doctor.  It was such a pain to find this one and get insurance to authorize it, though.  And the kids had already spent all that time waiting.  I was there, ya know?

The Doctor should be happy I'm so non-confrontational and mild-mannered.  My kids, though, they get many Kudos from me.  The visit ended up being four hours total.  We missed Tai Kwon Do and dinner.  I took them out (aka, through a drive-thru.)  I really shouldn't have, but dang, that was a long wait.  They didn't even have any books appropriate for kids there or anything.

Good job, kids.  I love you.

Older Kids Vacation Bible School

I lost the close up of Alexia.  For some reason a lot of my pictures are coming out blurry lately.

He was walking all around the Church with a blanket on his head.  He was tired of listending to the kids sing.

This was at the picnic afterwards.  He was faaaaar, far away on this bench in the sun while we were sitting all cozy under a shady tree.  This picture is so misleading.  That building behind him was in a different lot altoghether and Jacob was small he was so far away from me, lol.  His friend asked him to go sit in the shade with them.  Whew.  He was making me feel bad being way over there.

Lexi and her friend.

Lexi and her Teacher.

Robby was enjoying the feel of fresh soft mulch under his bare feet.

I think everyone else has already been tagged.

Here we go again

Spring held many promises with rain falling several times a week.  Our basement was even under a little bit of water for a while.  The Spring marched into Summer and the rain was coming only once a week.  That was OK.  Things were still getting their weekly drink and thriving.

But now.  But now...brown crinkly leaves are falling from the trees.  It hasn't rained since my hubby left.  Not once.  I mowed my grass last Monday and it it looks exactly the same in length.  The color is slowly moving from green to yellow to brown.  The forecast is showing sun, sun, sun.  And more heat.  In the 90's once again.  There is slight hope for a "stray thunderstorm" on two days, but I'm not holding my breath.  We lost four bushes last summer and a few branches from our tree out front.  I fear we are going to lose more this summer.  My baby tomato plants were thriving, but have now passed on.  :(  That was mostly my fault, though.  I put them in a pot that didn't have any drainage holes in the bottom.  So when it was still raining, their roots began to rot from standing water.

::le sigh::

My Husband Rocks!

I came across this idea at the great adventure and Christina's Blog.

My Hubby rocks because he works so hard to take care of our family.  I know he isn't happy where he is and he keeps on keeping on so he can care for us.  He *may have a really big decision to make very soon, and I know he will make the right decision for himself and for our family.  No pressure at all, dear!  We are right behind you.  We appreciate all that you do for us.  You rock, Alan.

I did this for my son

So today I took my kids to a place called Jump Zone.  Basically it's a warehouse type building with huge bounce houses set up.  Jacob kept begging and begging me to get on there and play with him when he saw other parents do it.  Ok now.  I'm a very, ::clears throat:: voluptuous woman.  But you know what, those slides and bounce houses looked fun.  I wanted to do it.  I could do it!  Piece of cake, right?

Wrong.

I got up onto the ladder of the huge slide and realized it wasn't really a ladder at all.  It was little ridges sticking out of a otherwise slippery tarp with a rope on the side to pull yourself up on.  The kids behind me were pushing me up.  Hahaha.  So I finally got up to the top and I'm sitting down and the little boy behind me says "Do you know I can see your butt crack?"  Bwhahahah! Poor kid!  I apologized and covered up my pretty bounteous crack.  Then the kids pushed me down the slide.  Dang, that slide was tall and steep!  Watch out below, voluptuous butt-crack showing woman coming down!  I screamed all the way down and flew over the blocker at the end onto the floor into a huge butt-crack showing pile on the floor.  Grace in action.

Was that enough for me?  Oh no.  I just had to go and try another torture contraption This one was an obstacle course.  Never mind that the hugest obstacle was shoving my voluptuous self through the kid sized hole to get into the darn thing.  I finally got in and was actually having fun.  I lumbered to my feet on the oh-so-steady floor of the bounce house and triumphantly put my hands up in a double fist pump.  I was standing!  THWUMP.  Right in the face came the "obstacle" part of the course and down I went.  Enter butt crack again.  I finally got back up and after being thwumped in the face three more times, I was through the obstacle!  Then my oh so loving eight-year-old says "Here is the really fun and hard part, Mommy.  Look, no rope!" Wha-?  Sure enough, another dangerously challenging not-really-a-ladder deal loomed before me to get up to another slide.  I had to somehow pull myself up to the top without having anything to actually pull myself up with.  I was just about to the top and I could see my friend at the bottom of the slide yelling "Come on Michelle, you can do it!" and I was like "YES! I can!" When all of a sudden my foot slipped and down I went to the bottom of the wanna-be-ladder, taking out five little kids with me.  Boom, boom, boom, boom, BOOM until I sat on the last one.  I was scrambling around checking for heart beats and injuries on these poor little kids.  They all giggled hysterically and said "What fun!" Except for the one I was sitting on, whom, thank goodness, was my own kid.  He grunted and gasped for air and I got off of him and he said "Whoo hoo!  That was cool!"  Then all the other little kids walked on me to get up the ladder and I could hear my friends daughter down there yelling "Michelle fell!"  So then my friends were all at the bottom of the slide going "Come on Michelle!  You can do it!  Try again!"  So up I went again.  This time, all the little kids waited until I was all the way up before trying to follow me.  Guess it wasn't as fun for them to be knocked down as they let on, lol.  I finally got to the top.  Triumph!  So I went down the slide "Wheeeeee!" and my friend snapped a picture.

I'll burn it later.

I'm telling you, I was panting and sweating just going through two bounce house things.  If I had one of those in my backyard, I'd lose 100 pounds.

Maybe that's not such a bad idea.  I'd need a really BIG one though, like the ones there.

In the end, I'm proud of myself for doing it.  Another heavy mom there saw me doing it and said "Well, if you can do it, so can I."

Go me!  See, the public humiliation was worth it.  And no children were injured in my ventures.  :-)

Hmmm...

Lyrics and Music

I really see a resemblance in the hair style, don't you?  Not so much in the skin tone or eyebrows.  I've started calling him my little Oompa Loompa because directly after a bath, he looks just like one.  ::smiles affectionately::

Girls

My little boy was so sweet.  He wanted to take flowers to the two little girls across the street.  They were weeds, but hey, who's keeping track?  So he goes over there bearing his "bouquet" and the little girls run screaming into their garage and shut the garage door.  So he leaves the flowers by their front door.  And now he is on his way to give them a lightening bug.

Ah, a sign of things to come.

Mommy will always be here to hug him and thank him for the thought, even if the thought wasn't for me.

Kids' Days out

Yesterday the kids and I walked to the park.  Today we went swimming.  I didn't get very many pictures, but here are a few of what I did get.  I obviously didn't take the camera into the pool with me, so I had to hide it with my stuff most of the time.  The pool was packed today.

Please note, some of the kids in these pictures are "extras".  AKA, not mine. ::Smiles::

This was entertaining for me.  The girls brought Barbies and were using them as Magic Wands and pretending to be Harry Potty.  They were putting a "Stupefy!" spell on Jacob.

And here is a video from my back yard.  I love the sounds in the background.  I was really enjoying it.  Reminded me of being in my Grandma's backyard.

Update on "This will be Fun"

Thought you might be interested in the day one results.

The boys came in with a grand total of $81.

The girls...::drum roll please:: came in with $231!

The girls smoked the boys today!

And that was a total of $312, which is what I thought the three day total would be.  So go, kids!  What a great thing for that little girl!

Picture time!

The shaved wonder.

Be sure you listen to this last one to the end.  It's cute.

Ok

I forgot something fun Hubby did with the kids.  He took them to a local baseball game.  I won't have pictures until I develop the cameras.  If you want to read about it, you can read about it here.  Warning!  Hubby's blog isn't for kids!  a_naval_tigger: Le Sigh  This link will take you directly to that particular post.  So this link is cool, but if you look at his blog, don't have your kids over your shoulder.  Like I accidentally did.  ::looks pointedly at the Hubby::  Ha!

This will be fun

The two oldest kids started Vacation Bible School today.  One of their challenges is to collect coins every night in their piggy banks they made.  Ok, really they are "Pringle Banks" because they are made out of Pringle cans, but that's OK. ::Smiles::  So anyway, I told them money that is lying out is fair game.  The rules are they can't empty my purse or wallet of its change, they can't empty any of *my piggy banks into theirs (Nor steal any money out of them), and they can't raid the ashtray in my vehicle which is full of change.  Oh, and they can't fight over the money lying out.   I always leave change lying all over, so I'm sure they will clean up.  I will purposely leave some out each day.  It's a three day contest - boys against the girls.  So of course I have to join in the fun.  The money will be given to a little girl who needs clothing and food and other necessities.  I'm thinking if each child in VBS brings just one dollar a day, that is roughly $100 a day.  (Our churches VBS rocks!)  So, after three collection days, that would be $300 for this little girl.  Not too shabby.  And I am positive a lot of kids will bring more than $1.00 a day.

Let the fun begin!

More Crazy Driver Notes

I swear the people around here make art out of driving nuts.

A couple days ago, I was in the right hand turn lane, and some dingle-berry comes up on the shoulder to make a right turn.  Well, there was a line of us in the actual turn lane.  So the cars in the turn lane kept cutting the guy who was on the shoulder off and the guy kept flipping the bird and laying on his horn.  I let him in just to get him out of the way. What the hay, though?  Getting angry because the people driving legally were in his way?  Ha!

The kicker, though, was seen while the Hubby was here.  There was a car in front of us and the driver had really long hair.  I can't remember what drew our attention to the driver in the first place, but eventually the driver was putting up her hair in a pony tail.  With both hands.  Going 65-70 MPH down the highway.  And we noticed she wasn't steering with her knees, either, lol.  And she drifted into the next lane and almost drifted into yet another lane but she finished putting her hair up and held onto the wheel again.  But wait, there's more!  When we passed her, we noticed she had a goatee!  So here we were calling her a silly woman driver, but it was a man! Ha!  So that just made it funnier to us.  Not that the man had long hair, that isn't a big deal.  Hubby would have hair to his knees if he was out of the Navy and actually had hair.  It was just funny because he was fussing with his hair so much and driving so badly, we thought he was a woman.  Hahaha.

And no, I'm not making fun of ALL women drivers.  We all know I drive perfectly.  ::prim smile::

Ah-Ha! I knew it!

I think I blogged about this before.  Remember how I thought someone was stealing out of my neighbors' recycling bins?  I may have been right.  I should have reported it, but I didn't have a license plate, so that would not have been much good.

I see how it is a good business, but like I said before, people PAY to have their recycling picked up.  So it's just lame to steal it and make money off of it.

Power Outage (a funny joke)

If you need a good laugh, get ready because this one will do it for you

POWER OUTAGE DURING A MAMMOGRAM

I actually kept my mammogram appointment. I was met with, 'Hi! I'm Belinda!' This perky clipboard carrier smiled from ear to ear, tilted her head to one side and crooned, 'All I need you to do is step into this room right here, strip to the waist, then slip on this gown.

Everything clear?

I'm thinking, 'Belinda, try decaf. This ain't rocket science.'

Belinda skipped away to prepare the chamber of horrors.

With the right side finished, Belinda flipped me (literally) to the left and said, 'Hmmmm. Can you stand on your tippy toes and lean in a tad so we can get everything?'

Fine, I answered. I was freezing, bruised, and out of air, so why not use the remaining circulation in my legs and neck and finish me off?

My body was in a holding pattern that defied gravity (with my other boob wedged between those two 4 inch pieces of square glass) when we heard, then felt a zap! Complete darkness and the power went off!

'Oh, maintenance is working. Bet they hit a snag.' Belinda headed for the door.

'Excuse me! You're not leaving me in this vise alone are you?' I shouted.

Belinda kept going and said, 'Oh, you fussy puppy...the door's wide open so you'll have the emergency hall lights. I'll be right back.'

Before I could shout 'NOOOO!' she disappeared.

And that's exactly how Bubba and Earl, maintenance men extraordinaire, found me, half-naked and part of me dangling from the Jaws of Life, and the other part smashed between glass!

After exchanging polite 'Hi, how's it going' type greetings, Bubba (or possibly Earl) asked, to my utter disbelief, if I knew the power was off.

Trying to disguise my hysteria, I replied with as much calmness as possible 'Uh, yes, yes I did thanks.'

'You bet, take care' Bubba replied and waved good-bye as though I'd been standing in the line at t he grocery store.

Two hours later, Belinda breezes in wearing a sheepish grin. Making no attempt to suppress her amusement, she said, 'Oh I am sooo sorry!' The power came back on and I totally forgot about you!And silly me, I went to lunch. Are we upset?'

And that, Your Honor, is exactly how her head ended up between the clamps....

They took him back

Nasty 'ol Navy took my Hubby back.

We did manage to have a lot of fun and quality time before he left.  I'm not sure I could sum it all up.  The time flew so fast.  I'd actually have to pull out my planner to jot down a note on everything we did.  We were so busy!  I think I touched on everything up until we left to go to his family reunion.

We arrived at his family's house on July 2nd.  That night was tense, but we got up the next morning and the Hubby and I left for two days and two nights all on our own!  We stayed in a Hotel.  We napped when we wanted to, we ate when we wanted to, we saw movies, and we even spent a couple of hours swimming together.  It was great fun.  I loved swimming with the Hubby with no kids to worry about.  I mean, he did send me, erm, "(You know what) over teakettle" a few times, but even still, I had a blast.  I hope he did, too.

On the 5th, we headed to the Reunion and met up with the kids and the family there.  The Reunion is OK.  I never really know anyone there.  That part is just eating and the kids play.  The adults talk and take pictures.  They usually have a party that night, but they couldn't get a band and had to move it to the this weekend.  Obviously, we weren't there.  I do mean a "Party!" when I say Party.  They get a band and the alcohol (aka moonshine, lmao) flows freely.  Plus I think some Jello shots are usually involved.  I've only gone once, and we left at dusk.  It's best to get the kids out of there by dusk.  We still saw some stuff I would have rather the kids didn't see, though!  It's not really a good place for kids after the food is put away and the alcohol comes out.  Even though it is a family members back yard, lol.  One thing is for sure, the family over there knows how to throw a party.

On the 5th after the Reunion, my MIL started showing me how to make a quilting square.  I was really looking forward tolearning how to sew it together on the 6th, but I woke up dizzy (JUST like last year, UGH), and I was really upset about it.  Frustrated and scared.  So my wonderful Hubby drove me home.  Well, he brought three of the kids, too.  We left Aidan with my MIL.  I miss him!  I hope I'll be able to go get him in a few weeks!  I might look into flying him home, but I don't know about a five year old flying by himself.  Pretty scary.  For him and for me!

So we arrived home on the evening of the 6th and ate dinner and went to bed.  On the 7th was doctor's appointments and the like.  We also went to Tai Kwon Do.  Oh, for anyone wondering, my MRI came back normal.  Yay!  I get to move on to an ENT for more tests.  Fun stuff.  I can't wait.  The 8th was busy, busy, busy.  Happy Belated Birthday, Hubby!  I'm sorry I couldn't do for you what you did for me.  (With the Spa and stuff for those with a dirty mind).  Hey...those Spa Finder cards are still here.  I should mail them to you so you can go get a massage.  I had to work that day, so I was stuck at home.  That evening we went to a picnic for my LG group.  That went OK.  Wednesday was more business.  I can't even remember.  Robby had Vacation Bible school this week so we were taking him to and from.  We went to Tai Kwon Do, and Alan took us out to eat at Red Lobster.  Yummy!  Thursday was back to work, more VBS, and I had an appointment to attend with Robby and the little boy I care for.  Hubby had Tai Kwon Do.  I actually cooked a meal that night.  Go me! Haha

Friday was busy busy.  We went to see Wall-E.  It was a very cute movie and Wall-E was just too adorable.  However, whoever wrote that movie has such a bleak view of American society it isn't even funny.  The slams and negative outlook were hard to miss.  I won't ruin the movie for anyone.  Really, though, the slams are the movie and right there "in your face".  It wasn't without hope though, so I'll let the writer/creator off easy.  One cute blurb to add here about the Hubby.  He's so cute.  He got the tickets and we went and bought drinks and were taking our tickets to the ticket taker when he said to me, "Your husband did a goofball thing." or something like that.  I snickered when he showed me the tickets.  He had bought six tickets.  There were only five of us, seeing as how Aidan is with Grandma.  I think it's so cute that he bought a ticket for Aidan.  It was his mistake, so he didn't try to take it back or anything.  So Aidan was with us in spirit.  We even bought him a seat.  ::snickers::  Too cute, Hubby!  <3 Mwha! I love you!

That night the Hubby and I went out to our favorite Cabaret.  The show was awesome!  Last time we went we both remember being a little disappointed, but this time we loved it.  The music was great and the skits were hysterical.  I'm glad we were able to go this time around.  The baby sitter seemed to work out well.  It's hard to form an opinion on one night, kwim?  And my blender was out, which was more than a little odd to me.  I'm hoping one of the kids dragged it out.  :-)  Just the glass part was out, not the base.

Hmm, OK.  I was wrong about Wall-E.  That was Saturday.  Friday Hubby took Jake to see "Journey to the Center of the Earth."  Jake loved the 3D.  I am too lazy to go back and fix my entry, though.  :-)  Saturday we went to Wall-E, then I came home and cooked and we were off to another Church Picnic.  This one was a going away party.  I didn't know everyone there, and the Hubby barely knew anyone there (he had just met some of them on Tuesday), so we were out of our element and anxious to get home to snuggle on his last night here.  ::sniff sniff::

This morning he packed his stuff into the van, we woke the kids up, and I drove him back.  I'm sad.  I always hate this part.

So I've been moping here today.  Woke up dizzy again after being fine yesterday.  @@ I'm done with this already.  So I have spent a lot of time on the couch.  My poor kids.  We did make it to Church today.  Robby sang as the Finale for VBS.  I have pictures and videos to share, but that will be in another entry.  My USB cable is hiding.

It's been a great week.  I miss the Hubby already.  And Alexia opened the front door to let the cat in, and both the boys went running saying "Daddy's home!"  It about broke my heart.  I know Hubby would rather be here, too.  Soon enough.  Until October, I'll be noting our lives for you to read here.

Now that's Freaky

So today I had a really fun experience.  I got to have an MRI done.

It started out with a really fun and exciting hour and a half wait.  I know the kids were just loving that.  The Hubby was just so glad he got to wait with three young kids.  Aren't you glad you came home, dear?  While the kids and the Hubby waited, I was filling out the same form over and over answering "Do you have an Aneurysm Clip or a Pacemaker?" eighty billion times.  Only to be later asked about 9 billion more times.  I was asked so many times I began to doubt myself.  Maybe I really *did have an Aneurysm Clip and a Pacemaker.  Hmmm...did I?  I finally settled on a solid no and forward we marched.

After changing into a too small gown, I was then led to a room and told to lie my 3X self on a 1X table.  So I was flat on my back and shoved into a 1X hole with a cage around my head.  What a great idea.  Let's take someone who has Vertigo when she lies down and put her flat on her back in a too small hole and make her lie there for half an hour.  Great idea!  It was so much fun.  At least my claustrophobia couldn't get the better of me, because as far as I was concerned, I was on the amusement ride from hell and not crammed into a too small hole.

So they warn me that it would be painless but maybe a little loud.  So they set me up with my favorite radio station and I laid there and patiently waited for a little bit of bumping and thumping.  The noise started all of a sudden and I about leaped out of my pants.  At least I didn't pee them.  The lady came over my headphones and asked me to "Please try to hold still."  Yeah, yeah, I'm trying lady, but you are scaring the crap out of me.  And I felt like my head was going to implode.  Panic attack, anyone?  I had to talk myself down several times.

The noises continued and continued.  MRI my hiney.  That tube catapulted me to the next galaxy where I experienced 13 Close Encounters of the Third Kind.  Complete with Anal Probing if I go by the bumping and thumping going on in my hiney region.

When it was finally over, they told me to be careful sitting up because I might be a little dizzy.  Um, really?  No kidding me.  The torture contraption never stopped spinning the entire time.  I've never been so happy to sit up straight in my entire life.  Finally, I was able to get off the ride from hell and stand on solid ground...on Earth!  I wanted to kiss the floor.

And I never want to do that again!  I'll stay in this Galaxy, thank you very much.

That'll teach him

::Grins::

The Hubby came in here telling me to help him move furniture.  I had told him I would help him after I ate my lunch.  Well, he comes in just after I shoved the last bite into my mouth and he started in "I don't see any food on that plate!"

So what did I do?  Being oh so mature and of good nature, I stuck my tongue full of food out so he could see that I was indeed still eating.

He left me alone after that.

::Smiles in satisfaction::

Back

So we are back from the Family Reunion a day early.  The Reunion was fun, and time with the Hubby was fantastic.  I think the kids had fun.  I'm sorry to say I have no pictures...I forgot my camera!  Boo!  We did buy some disposies, but I haven't developed them and won't for a bit.  I'm not able to drive, so I will get them when I can.

Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July!

Fun times

Daddy is home!

See no Evil, Speak no Evil, and Hear no Evil.  What a bunch of Goons.  But I love them.

We have been hanging out at Tai Kwon Do a lot.  Jacob has finally voiced that he wanted to sign up and that he would take it seriously.  So I took a few pictures of his first class.  And a bonus of Daddy practicing his forms.

We have been out to eat.  A lot.  One night Bill the Balloon Guy was there.  Cheap Giggles for the Parents.  Daddy opted to go Sans Balloon gear.

We went swimming and had a lot of fun.

For my Birthday, I received a day at the spa.  A 90 minute massage and a trip to the Salon.  I chose to have my hair relaxed and trimmed.  No more frizz!  Yay!

I ran errands, and Daddy took Chickie to get her hair trimmed and braided.  I wish I could braid like that.

Welcome home, Daddy!

With Love,

The Family
